Ayurvedic Protein Powder, Without the Marketing Fluff
Most protein powders on Indian shelves are built the same way: an isolate, a gum to thicken it, a sweetener to mask the isolate. We got tired of that formula, so PROMIX doesn't use it.
What's Actually In the Tin
No isolates, no protein concentrate shipped in from a factory somewhere. The base is roasted gram — the same chana you'd find in a Bengali kitchen — ground down for a clean plant protein source. To that we add chia, flaxseed, pumpkin seed, and sunflower seed for fibre and fat, and almonds for a bit of richness. That's the ingredient list. Not a summary of it — the whole thing.
Where Ayurveda Comes In
This is the part that actually makes it an ayurvedic protein powder rather than just a plant-based one. Three botanical groups do the work:
Ashwagandha & Shatavari
Two roots used in Ayurvedic formulations for centuries, traditionally taken for stamina and post-exertion recovery.
Ginger
Added specifically for digestion — the same reason it shows up in kitchen remedies across India.
Cardamom & Moringa
Round out the micronutrient profile, and make it taste like something your grandmother would approve of.
We're not going to tell you it cures anything — that's not how Ayurveda or protein powder works. What we can say is these are ingredients with a long history of traditional use, added at levels that matter.
Why It Doesn't Sit Like a Brick
The most common complaint about protein powder isn't taste, it's what happens an hour later. PROMIX is dairy-free and gluten-free, and there's no gum, no filler, no refined sugar or artificial sweetener doing the heavy lifting.
Less for your gut to fight through means less bloating — which is really just a side effect of using fewer, better ingredients rather than a separate feature we engineered in.
Made in Kolkata, Checked Against International Standards
We manufacture in Kolkata. That's not a footnote — it's where the recipe was developed and where every batch gets made. Alongside that:
PROMIX comes in an unflavoured version and Coco Promix, a chocolate variant built more for a post-workout recovery drink. If you're deciding between the two, that's worth its own post.
